Basic Functions and Responsibilities
The Treasurer is an officer of the Association and shall be responsible for developing, distributing, and maintaining the financial records of the Association and performing transactions as directed by the Executive Council. The Treasurer has fiduciary responsibility to the Association.
Characteristic Duties and Responsibilities
  1. Receives and disburses monies of the Association in accordance with the authority provided by the EASFAA Council. Establishes a bank account for this purpose.
  2. Takes proper steps to become bonded for the Term of Service.
  3. Maintains adequate and appropriate records of all transactions. Provides the Budget Chair with monthly financial statements. Reconciles funds on a timely basis.
  4. Responsible for the proper and timely filing of all reports including, but not limited to, all necessary tax returns, audits, etc. and maintaining adequate liability and property insurance.
  5. Responsible for providing documentation that IRS Form 990 has been filed in a timely manner for the most recent fiscal year and maintains copies of the information.
  6. As a member of the Budget Committee, assists with the formulation of the Association's annual budget and recommends financial policies regarding investments and reserves.
  7. Recommends and cooperates with an auditor in completing the annual audit. The audit will be performed as soon as possible after the close of the fiscal year.
  8. Responsible for developing computer procedures on an as needed basis.
  9. Responsible for providing guidance to committees on all revenue generating activities. Assists and Association committee or sponsored activity in need of financial advice or service.
  10. Responsible for insuring a smooth transition from year to year by documenting computer procedures and training his/her successor.
  11. Performs other functions as assigned by the President.
Term of Service:
Two years commencing July 1.
