NASFAA Credential Training - Return to Title IV
Tuesday, April 4

  • All EASFAA Training events require 2016-2017 EASFAA Membership ($50.00) - The Application Process training event has a $35.00 fee in addition to the required EASFAA Membership. This $35.00 fee entitles participants to receive a voucher for complimentary access to the credential test.
  • The test should be downloaded from the NASFAA Store within a few days of training.
  • Participants must take the test(s) within 3 months of completing the authorized event.
  • Participants do not have to be NASFAA members; however, they must create a myNASFAA account in order to register for and take the credential test(s).
  • Each test voucher includes two attempts to successfully complete the test.

The Return to Title IV training will cover the following:

  • The general requirements for the return of Title IV funds;
  • Understanding when the return of Title IV funds requirements apply;
  • Distinguishing when the return of Title IV funds requirements don’t apply; and
  • Understanding when a student is considered to have withdrawn from different types of academic programs.
  • Recognizing the importance of properly assigning a withdrawal date when calculating the return of Title IV funds;
  • Knowing how schools determine the withdrawal date depending upon whether or not they are required to take attendance;
  • Identifying the different types of withdrawals;
  • Knowing how withdrawals are handled in programs offered in modules; and
  • Understanding Title IV approved leaves of absence.
  • Recognizing and understanding the steps of the return of Title IV funds formula when disbursed aid exceeds earned aid
  • Recognizing and understanding the steps of the return of Title IV funds formula when earned aid exceeds disbursed aid.

    AnnMarie Bouse has worked in financial aid for more than 33 years.During her career in financial aid, she has worked for career schools, private 4 -year schools, public non-profit schools and has been an education consultant. While overseeing the operations in financial aid, she has also had the responsibility for obtaining approval for new locations and programs through the state authorizing agencies across multiple states and through multiple accrediting agencies. She has been a Team Leader for a national accrediting agency reviewing schools for new and renewal accreditation. She serves on the NJASFAA Government Relations Committee and was the Director of Communications for the NJ Higher Education Student Assistance Authority. AnnMarie is the Manager of Compliance and Quality Assurance in the Office of Financial Aid at Rutgers University.



If your membership is current for 2016-2017 there is a $35 fee for registering.  Should you not be a current member you will not be able to complete this form until you have submitted a membership application and membership dues have been paid.
